You are invited to a launch event of the outdoor sculpture “Luna” by artist Moshe Roas, at sunset on a full moon night.
The evening will begin with a performance in relation to the sculpture by dancer Or Ashkenazi, followed by instrumental music performed on the sitar by Ehud Ifrach.
As part of the initiative of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality inaugurating dozens of new sculptures in the public space by selected artists, Artport is happy to invite you to an event dedicated to the sculpture of artist-in-residence, Moshe Roas.
“Luna” is composed of three interfacing moons, as three simultaneous moon phases. One moon is set with a glass lens, allowing the absorption of sun rays and their refraction on the grass lawn that stretches on the beach promenade. Thus, the statue forms a relationship between two stars – the sun and the moon.
The moon, Luna – Earth’s only natural satellite, is a symbol of cycles and renewal in many cultures and holds within it the hidden and magical. It softly illuminates moments of madness, provides shelter for loving couples, and makes room for hidden night stories.
The statue “Luna” is dedicated to the bustling white city and to all night lovers.
The event will take place alongside the statue in Jaffa Slope Park.
The talk will take place in the adjacent constructed amphitheater.
