Hadas Amster
Hadas Amster is a London-based artist and curator whose practice weaves together sculpture, video, performance, Augmented Reality (AR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create immersive and tactile experiences. Rooted in personal narratives, her work probes themes of belonging, otherness, and identity, often challenging the cultural mechanisms that shape our perception of reality. Through her multi-disciplinary approach, Amster examines the friction between the real and the imaginary, positioning herself as an opposing force that awakens dormant aspects of the collective consciousness.
Amster’s practice revolves around Experience Art, where the viewer’s physical and emotional engagement is paramount. Her installations are immersive and multi-sensory, designed to disrupt conventional ways of seeing and interacting with art. The combination of physical and digital mediums allows her to explore new modes of storytelling, creating a bridge between tactile reality and the intangible, virtual world.
Throughout her career, Amster has been featured in numerous international exhibitions, including solo shows such as “Almost Home” at MEINBLAU, Berlin (2019), and “Partial Visibility” at Binyamin Gallery, Tel-Aviv (2018). Her work has also been showcased at prestigious venues like the Syker Vorwerk Museum in Germany, C24 Gallery in New York, and Neue Vide in Haarlem, Netherlands. Most recently, she was selected for the “Reverse Alchemy” exhibition at Gallery Hyundai, Seoul, and the MA Degree Show at the Royal College of Art, London (2024).
Alongside her artistic endeavors, Amster has played an active role in the art community as a curator and mentor. She was the director and founder of “Half Moon,” a program supporting emerging artists at Barbur Gallery, Jerusalem, where she also served as a board member and curator. Amster’s academic background includes a BFA with honors from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem, and ongoing MA studies in Information Experience Design at the Royal College of Art, London. Her work is supported by numerous awards, including scholarships from the Deutscher Künstlerbund e.V. and the ZURÜCKGEBEN grant.
